What We Do

We offer a range of services including comprehensive evaluation, a full treatment plan and variety of group classes

Developmental Assessments
Evaluation

The evaluation starts with a detailed conversation about your child's birth, medical, and developmental history. We'll address any concerns and discuss the skills you both would like to improve. After understanding your concerns, we'll use various assessment tools to get a detailed understanding of your child's needs. At the end of the evaluation, we'll discuss whether ongoing physical therapy is recommended based on our findings. If needed, we'll talk about the frequency of clinic visits and may provide a home exercise program. We will ask any questions you may have about your child or the physical therapy treatment.

Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Treatment Session 30min/45min

Pediatric physical therapy sessions are designed to resemble play, making them enjoyable for kids. Physical therapists use fun and age-appropriate games and activities to keep children motivated and happy, even though the therapy itself involves some challenging work. At the end of each session, we will briefly discuss what we did during the session and update, if necessary, the home exercise program.

Bio

Greetings! I’m Alexandra Genis, a licensed and a board-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy. My educational journey started with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Stony Brook University, leading me to pursue a Doctoral degree at NYIT (New York Institute of Technology). Following my studies, I joined a team at the NYU/Bellevue Traumatic Brain Injury unit, where I immersed myself in extensive training in neurological rehabilitation.

Throughout my career, I’ve gathered significant experience in orthopedic and manual therapy, specializing in the rehabilitation of neurological disorders. While I have a solid foundation in general physical therapy, my heart truly lies in pediatric physical therapy. I am wholeheartedly dedicated to working with children, guiding them towards unlocking their full physical potential.

To stay at the forefront of my field, I enthusiastically participate in evidence-based continuing education courses, such as Neuro Sensory Reflex Integration and Hippotherapy. I am certified in Kinesio Taping, Primitive Reflex Integration, and am currently obtaining a TMR for Tots certificate.  I have also been trained in Yoga for pediatrics and actively utilize yoga in my practice. This commitment to ongoing education ensures that I provide the warmest and most effective care to my patients.

Beyond the professional realm, I find joy in spending quality time with my family. I also have a deep love for travel adventures and savoring the vibrant experiences offered by Broadway shows. Looking forward to helping your children reach their full potential.
